Spectators at Friday's non-league match between the Denver City Mustangs (Denver City, TX) and the visiting Estacado Matadors (Lubbock, TX), witnessed Denver City's softball squad tip Estacado by a count of 9-6.

The Mustangs now sport a 3-5 record. They play next when they travel to Muleshoe for a 3A Region I District 3 match on Saturday, March 23.

With the loss, Estacado moves to 7-14 on the season. The Matadors travel to Lamesa (Lamesa, TX) to meet the Tornadoes in a non-league match on Thursday, March 14. The Tornadoes go into the match with a record of 5-2. Lamesa won 7-3 in their recent non-league match against Snyder (Snyder, TX)
