The Walnut Grove Wildcats softball team scored 16 runs and limited the visiting Emerson Mavericks to 1 in the Wildcats league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Walnut Grove improves its record to 20-2 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Independence (Frisco, TX) to clash with the Knights in a 5A Region II District 10 game on Monday, March 11. The Knights come into the game with a record of 1-8.

In their next game, the Mavericks clash with the Heritage Coyotes (Frisco, TX) in a 5A Region II District 10 game, on Monday, March 11. Emerson will attempt to improve on its 12-7 season record. The Coyotes come into the game with a 8-6 record after their 6-2 league loss to Lebanon Trail (Frisco, TX).
