The Hoxie Mustangs softball team scored 15 runs and limited the visiting Manila Lions to 13 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, Hoxie improves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Mustangs host Mountain View (Mountain View, AR) to clash with the Yellowjackets in a 3A Region 2 game on Friday, March 8. The Yellowjackets come into the game with a record of 2-0. Mountain View won 10-3 in their recent league game against Cave City (Cave City, AR)

In their next game, the Lions clash with the Paragould Rams (Paragould, AR) in a non-league game, on Friday, March 8. Manila will attempt to improve on its 0-3 season record. The Rams come into the game with a 1-1 record after their 9-5 non-league win over Pocahontas (Pocahontas, AR).
