Orange Panthers (Hillsborough, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Johnston Wildcats (Benson, NC), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roxboro Community for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 13. Orange will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 7-4 non-league loss to Southern Alamance (Graham, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, West Johnston falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Eastern Alamance (Mebane, NC) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 11. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Eastern Alamance won 6-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Southeast Alamance (Haw River, NC)
