Somerset Bulldogs (Somerset, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Pearsall Mavericks (Pearsall, TX), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 16-3 record. They take the field next when they host Floresville for a 4A Region IV District 29 challenge on Tuesday, March 12. Somerset will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 12-8 league win over Devine (Devine, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 10-7.

With the loss, Pearsall falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to Floresville (Floresville, TX) to battle the Tigers in a 4A Region IV District 29 challenge on Friday, March 15. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 10-7.
