The Alexandria Trojans triumphed over the host Florien Blackcats softball squad by a count of 19-3 in Saturday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Trojans play the Ruston Bearcats (Ruston, LA) in a 5A District 2 challenge, on Tuesday, March 11. Alexandria will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a 7-5 record after their 4-3 non-league loss to Claiborne Christian (West Monroe, LA).

The Blackcats (1-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Mansfield (Mansfield, LA). The Wolverines enter the non-league challenge with a 1-3 record. In their last challenge, Mansfield overcame Jonesboro-Hodge (Jonesboro, LA), 19-9, in a non-league challenge.
