The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Austin Black Bears (Decatur, AL) and the host Hoover Buccaneers (Hoover, AL), saw Austin's softball squad nip Hoover by a count of 3-2.

The Black Bears now sport a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to James Clemens for a 7A Area 8 match on Thursday, March 10. Austin will face a Jets squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to Bob Jones (Madison, AL). The Jets record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Hoover falls to 8-5 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Brookwood (Brookwood, AL) to face the Panthers in a non-league match on Thursday, March 10. The Panthers enter the match with a record of 11-17. Brookwood lost 2-0 in their recent non-league match against Hartselle (Hartselle, AL)
