In Wednesday's league contest, the Hawkins Hawks (Hawkins, TX) softball team overwhelmed the host Union Hill Bulldogs (Gilmer, TX), by a margin of 20-0.
With the triumph, Hawkins moves its record to 5-3 on the year. The Hawks host New Summerfield (New Summerfield, TX) to play the Hornets in a 2A Region III District 19 contest on Friday, March 11. The Hornets come into the contest with a record of 0-1. New Summerfield lost 28-8 in their recent non-league contest against LaPoynor (LaRue, TX)
In their next game, the Bulldogs play the Carlisle Indians (Price, TX) in a 2A Region III District 19 battle, on Friday, March 18. Union Hill will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record.
