Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears (Orange, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Silsbee Tigers (Silsbee, TX), 8-6 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bridge City for a 4A Region III District 22 challenge on Friday, March 11. Little Cypress-Mauriceville will battle a Cardinals squad coming off a 5-3 non-league loss to Hudson (Lufkin, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Silsbee falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Vidor (Vidor, TX) to battle the Pirates in a 4A Region III District 22 challenge on Friday, March 11. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 3-12. Vidor lost 10-5 in their recent league challenge against Orangefield (Orangefield, TX)
