Georgia High School Baseball - Screven County nips Islands

March 9, 2023: Sylvania, GA 30467

The Screven County Gamecocks (Sylvania, GA) baseball nipped the visiting Islands Sharks (Savannah, GA), 5-4 in Thursday's non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Gamecocks encounter the Metter Tigers (Metter, GA) in a 1A D-I Area 3 contest, on Tuesday, March 14. Screven County will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Tigers come into the contest with a 6-3 record after their 10-9 non-league loss to Emanuel County Institute (Twin City, GA).

The Sharks now sport a 4-9 record. They play next when they travel to Benedictine for a 4A Area 3 contest on Monday, March 13. Islands will encounter a Cadets squad coming off a 8-6 non-league win over Holy Innocents Episcopal (Atlanta, GA). The Cadets record now stands at 8-4.
