Denham Springs Yellowjackets (Denham Springs, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ascension Catholic Bulldogs (Donaldsonville, LA), 11-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Yellowjackets now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they host East Ascension for a 5A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, March 12. Denham Springs will face a Spartans squad coming off a 10-9 non-league win over Hahnville (Boutte, LA). The Spartans record now stands at 10-6.

With the loss, Ascension Catholic falls to 9-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host East Iberville (St. Gabriel, LA) to face the Tigers in a 1A District 8 challenge on Tuesday, March 12. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 2-2.
