Springfield Bulldogs (Springfield, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets (New Roads, LA), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now sport a 4-9 record. They take the field next when they host Parkview Baptist for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 9. Springfield will face a Eagles squad coming off a 13-11 non-league win over St. Michael (Baton Rouge, LA). The Eagles record now stands at 6-3.

With the loss, Catholic of Pointe Coupee falls to 11-7 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to E.D. White (Thibodaux, LA) to face the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 9. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 9-3. E.D. White lost 19-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Doyle (Livingston, LA)
