In Friday's league game, the host Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns baseball team scored a tight 9-3 victory over the Shepherd Pirates.
The Longhorns (6-8) will now prepare for their game against Splendora (Splendora, TX). The Wildcats go into the 4A Region III District 21 game with a 6-13 record. In their last game, Splendora was overwhelmed by Livingston (Livingston, TX), 4-0, in a league game.
The Pirates (3-13) will now prepare for their game against Hargrave (Huffman, TX). The Falcons go into the 4A Region III District 21 game with a 17-3 record. In their last game, Hargrave tipped Hamshire-Fannett (Hamshire, TX), 7-3, in a league game.
