Texas High School Baseball - Pearce can't hold off Lake Highlands

The Lake Highlands Wildcats baseball team scored 3 runs and limited the visiting Pearce Mustangs to 2 in the Wildcats league victory on Friday.

The Wildcats (5-6) will now prepare for their match against Irving (Irving, TX). The Tigers go into the 6A Region I District 7 match with a 0-14 record.

The Mustangs (11-4) will now prepare for their match against Richardson (Richardson, TX). The Eagles go into the 6A Region I District 7 match with a 11-6 record. In their last match, Richardson was edged by Naaman Forest (Garland, TX), 7-3, in a non-league match.

The Mustangs came up short in a hostile environment dropping a 3-2 decision to Lake Highlands despite out hitting the Wildcats 9 to 4. The loss overshadowed AJ Ripley's nice pitching performance on the mound as he went the distance striking out 10 batters with no walks. Marshyl Stennett, Ryan Sessions and Dean Balo had 2 hits each while Stennett and Balo each had 1 RBI to lead the Mustangs.
