Spectators at Friday's league battle between the Lanier Bulldogs (Jackson, MS) and the visiting South Pike Eagles (Magnolia, MS), saw Lanier's baseball squad beat South Pike by a margin of 17-7.
Coming up next, the Bulldogs play the North Pike Jaguars (Summit, MS) in a 4A Region 6 battle, on Tuesday, April 5. Lanier will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record. The Jaguars enter the battle with a 9-7 record after their 6-4 non-league win over Poplarville (Poplarville, MS).
The Eagles now sport a 1-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to McComb for a 4A Region 6 battle on Tuesday, April 5. South Pike will play a Tigers squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Raymond (Raymond, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 3-5.
