Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) supporters were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), 5-0 in a league challenge.

Next, the Pirates confront the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge, on Tuesday, April 5. Topsail will attempt to move on its 8-1 season record. The Buccaneers enter the challenge with a 6-1 record after their 2-0 league loss to Ashley (Wilmington, NC).

The Cougars now possess a 4-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hoggard for a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Monday, April 4. South Brunswick will confront a Vikings team coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Waccamaw (Pawley's Island, SC). The Vikings record now stands at 4-1.
