In Friday's league contest, the Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) softball team overwhelmed the host Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), by a margin of 5-0.
With the triumph, Starmount moves its record to 10-1 on the year. The Rams travel to East Wilkes (Ronda, NC) to play the Cardinals in a Northwest 1A contest on Tuesday, April 5. The Cardinals come into the contest with a record of 8-1. East Wilkes won 15-0 in their recent league contest against North Stokes (Danbury, NC)
In their next game, the Trojans play the Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC) in a Northwest 1A contest, on Tuesday, April 5. Alleghany will attempt to move on its 0-12 season record. The Granite Bears come into the contest with a 1-10 record after their 18-4 non-league loss to Walkertown (Walkertown, NC).
