El Monte Lions (El Monte, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Gabrielino Eagles (San Gabriel, CA), 17-0 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they host Mountain View for a Mission Valley challenge on Monday, April 4.

With the loss, Gabrielino falls to 1-13 on the campaign. The Eagles host Glendale (Glendale, CA) to face the Nitros in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 4. The Nitros enter the challenge with a record of 3-13.
