Oak Grove Grizzlies (Winston-Salem, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC), 2-1 in a league challenge.

The Grizzlies now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they host Central Davidson for a Mid-Piedmont 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 5. Oak Grove will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 4-1 league win over North Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Montgomery Central falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Timberwolves host North Stanly (New London, NC) to battle the Comets in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 4. The Comets enter the challenge with a record of 10-2. North Stanly won 20-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Forest Hills (Marshville, NC)
