Piute Thunderbirds (Junction, UT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting North Summit Braves (Coalville, UT), 18-1 in a league challenge.

The Thunderbirds now own a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Sevier for a 2A challenge on Tuesday, April 5. Piute will face a Wolves squad coming off a 22-2 league loss to South Sevier (Monroe, UT). The Wolves record now stands at 3-12.

With the loss, North Summit falls to 0-10 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Gunnison Valley (Gunnison, UT) to face the Bulldogs in a 2A challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 7-8. Gunnison Valley lost 7-6 in their recent non-league challenge against North Sanpete (Mt. Pleasant, UT)
