In Saturday's league game, the host Sandia Matadors baseball team scored a tight 9-2 victory over the Farmington Scorpions.
The Matadors (11-5) will now prepare for their game against Farmington (Farmington, NM). The Scorpions go into the 5A District 2 game with a 6-6 record. In their last game, Farmington was overwhelmed by Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM), 5-1, in a non-league game.
The Scorpions (6-8) will now prepare for their game against Sandia (Albuquerque, NM). The Matadors go into the 5A District 2 game with a 9-5 record. In their last game, Sandia tipped Valley (Albuquerque, NM), 15-5, in a non-league game.
