Chewelah Cougars (Chewelah, WA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Liberty Lancers (Spangle, WA), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kettle Falls for a 2B Bi-County challenge on Tuesday, April 11. Chewelah will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 20-4 league win over Reardan (Reardan, WA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Liberty falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna (Ritzville, WA) to battle the Broncos in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Broncos enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna lost 10-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Asotin (Asotin, WA)
