Idalou Wildcats (Idalou, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Shallowater Mustangs (Shallowater, TX), 9-4 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 20-7 record. They take the field next when they host Childress for a 3A Region I District 2 challenge on Monday, April 3. Idalou will face a Bobcats squad coming off a 25-4 league win over Abernathy (Abernathy, TX). The Bobcats record now stands at 4-15.

With the loss, Shallowater falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Slaton (Slaton, TX) to face the Tigers in a 3A Region I District 2 challenge on Wednesday, April 5. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 5-8. Slaton lost 19-0 in their recent league challenge against Idalou (Idalou, TX)
