La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM), 13-3 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 14-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Piedra Vista for a 5A District 2 challenge on Saturday, April 8. La Cueva will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 10-0 league win over Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 16-2.

With the loss, West Mesa falls to 7-10 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Farmington (Farmington, NM) to battle the Scorpions in a 5A District 2 challenge on Friday, April 7. The Scorpions enter the challenge with a record of 11-5. Farmington lost 12-11 in their recent league challenge against Sandia (Albuquerque, NM)
