Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans (Morristown, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting David Crockett Pioneers (Jonesborough, TN), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they host Jefferson County for a 4A District 2 challenge on Thursday, April 4. Morristown-Hamblen West will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 10-7 non-league loss to Greeneville (Greeneville, TN). The Patriots record now stands at 6-9.

With the loss, David Crockett falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Pioneers host Cherokee (Rogersville, TN) to battle the Chiefs in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Chiefs enter the challenge with a record of 1-6. Cherokee won 14-0 in their recent non-league challenge against King's Academy (Seymour, TN)
