La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Edinburg North Cougars (Edinburg, TX), 4-1 in a league challenge.

The Coyotes now own a 16-4 record. They take the field next when they host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo for a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Friday, April 5. La Joya will battle a Bears squad coming off a 13-3 league win over Economedes (Edinburg, TX). The Bears record now stands at 21-4.

With the loss, Edinburg North falls to 13-13 on the campaign. The Cougars host Mission (Mission, TX) to battle the Eagles in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge on Friday, April 5. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 5-10. Mission won 9-4 in their recent league challenge against Edinburg (Edinburg, TX)
