The Mountain View Yellowjackets softball team scored 14 runs and limited the host Newport Greyhounds to 11 in the Yellowjackets league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Mountain View moves its record to 5-4 on the year. The Yellowjackets host Cave City (Cave City, AR) to play the Cavemen in a 3A Region 2 game on Tuesday, April 2. The Cavemen come into the game with a record of 4-7. Cave City lost 11-1 in their recent league game against Salem (Salem, AR)

In their next game, the Greyhounds play the Hoxie Mustangs (Hoxie, AR) in a 3A Region 2 game, on Tuesday, April 2. Newport will attempt to move on its 2-9 season record. The Mustangs come into the game with a 1-7 record after their 10-0 league loss to Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR).
