Nauset Regional Warriors (North Eastham, MA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Nantucket Whalers (Nantucket, MA), 12-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Warriors now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Upper Cape Cod RVT for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 5.

With the loss, Nantucket falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Whalers host St. John Paul II (Hyannis, MA) to face the Lions in a Cape & Islands challenge on Wednesday, April 10. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
