The New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC) baseball got by the host Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC), 1-0 in Tuesday's league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cedar Ridge for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 2. New Hanover will clash with a Fighting Red Wolves team coming off a 9-6 league loss to Eastern Alamance (Mebane, NC). The Fighting Red Wolves record now stands at 5-8.

With the defeat, Hoggard drops to 5-9 on the year. The Vikings host South Brunswick (Southport, NC) to clash with the Cougars in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Friday, April 4. The Cougars go into the challenge with a record of 4-9. South Brunswick won 4-1 in their recent league challenge against West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC)
