Rockbridge County Wildcats (Lexington, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Staunton Storm (Staunton, VA), 16-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host Harrisonburg for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. Rockbridge County will face a Blue Streaks squad coming off a 24-12 non-league loss to Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA). The Blue Streaks record now stands at 0-6.

With the loss, Staunton falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Storm travel to Mountain View (Quicksburg, VA) to meet the Generals in a non-league battle on Wednesday, April 12. The Generals go into the battle with a record of 2-8. Mountain View lost 15-11 in their recent non-league battle against Luray (Luray, VA)
