Fremd Vikings (Palatine, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hersey Huskies (Arlington Heights, IL), 8-5 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carmel for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. Fremd will battle a Corsairs squad coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Grant Community (Fox Lake, IL). The Corsairs record now stands at 7-1.

With the loss, Hersey falls to 5-2 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Palatine (Palatine, IL) to battle the Pirates in a Mid-Suburban West challenge on Wednesday, April 12. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 5-0. Palatine won 12-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Cary-Grove (Cary, IL)
