South Pittsburg Pirates (South Pittsburg, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers (Chattanooga, TN), 17-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Marion County for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. South Pittsburg will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 10-7 league win over Polk County (Benton, TN). The Warriors record now stands at 5-7.

With the loss, Howard Tech falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Hustlin' tigers host Walker Valley (Cleveland, TN) to battle the Mustangs in a 4A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 13-6. Walker Valley lost 3-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Clinton (Clinton, TN)
