Wheelersburg Pirates (Wheelersburg, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Northwest Mohawks (McDermott, OH), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Minford for a Southern Ohio II challenge on Thursday, April 13. Wheelersburg will face a Falcons squad coming off a 17-1 league loss to Portsmouth West (West Portsmouth, OH). The Falcons record now stands at 0-5.

With the loss, Northwest falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Mohawks host Portsmouth (Portsmouth, OH) to face the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 11. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Portsmouth lost 2-0 in their recent league challenge against Ironton (Ironton, OH)
