In Wednesday's non-league game, the host West Carteret Patriots baseball team scored a tight 7-4 victory over the East Carteret Mariners.
The Patriots (5-5) will now prepare for their game against Dixon (Holly Ridge, NC). The Bulldogs go into the non-league game with a 3-8 record. In their last game, Dixon Croatan (Newport, NC), 7-7, in a league game.
The Mariners (5-7) will now prepare for their game against Croatan (Newport, NC). The Cougars go into the non-league game with a 5-3 record.
