Shamokin Area Indians (Coal Township, PA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Montoursville Warriors (Montoursville, PA), 10-9 in a league challenge.

The Indians now sport a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Schuylkill Haven for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 13. Shamokin Area will face a Hurricanes squad coming off a 11-0 non-league win over Weatherly (Weatherly, PA). The Hurricanes record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Montoursville falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Milton (Milton, PA) to face the Black Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 11. The Black Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Milton lost 5-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Jersey Shore (Jersey Shore, PA)
