Union City Bears (Union City, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Seneca Bobcats (Erie, PA), 7-4 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Fairview for a District 10 Region 3 challenge on Thursday, April 11. Union City will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 15-2 league win over Mercyhurst Prep (Erie, PA). The Tigers record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Seneca falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Girard (Girard, PA) to battle the Yellowjackets in a District 10 Region 3 challenge on Thursday, April 11. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Girard lost 13-3 in their recent league challenge against Union City (Union City, PA)
