The crowd at Thursday's non-league battle between the Alexander Cougars (Douglasville, GA) and the host Campbell Spartans (Smyrna, GA), saw Alexander's baseball team get by Campbell by a tally of 3-2.

The Cougars (10-15) will now prepare for their battle against New Manchester (Douglasville, GA). The Jaguar enter the AAAAA Region 5 battle with a 6-14 record. In their last battle, New Manchester was nipped by Kennesaw Mountain (Kennesaw, GA), 7-1, in a league challenge.

With the defeat, Campbell drops to 11-15 on the year. The Spartans travel to Southside Christian (Simpsonville, SC) to clash with the Sabres in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 12. The Sabres go into the challenge with a record of 15-1. Southside Christian won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Christ Church Episcopal (Greenville, SC)
