In Thursday's league game, the visiting Ledford Panthers baseball team scored a close 5-3 win over the Asheboro Blue Comets.
The Panthers (11-7) will now prepare for their game against North Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Black Knights go into the Mid-Piedmont 3A game with a 8-10 record. In their last game, North Davidson by Central Davidson (Lexington, NC), 4-1, in a league game.
Next, the Blue Comets play the Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) in a Mid-Piedmont 3A game, on Tuesday, April 15. Asheboro will attempt to improve on its 5-14 season record. The Timberwolves go into the game with a 6-11 record after their 4-0 league loss to Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC).
