The Central of Clay County Volunteers baseball team scored 8 runs and held the host Briarwood Christian Lions to 2 in the Volunteers league win on Thursday.

The Volunteers now own a 11-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Horseshoe Bend for a non-league test on Monday, April 14. Central of Clay County will play a Generals team coming off a 10-0 league loss to Ranburne (Ranburne, AL). The Generals record now stands at 6-13.

With the defeat, Briarwood Christian drops to 16-13 on the year. The Lions host Elmore County (Eclectic, AL) to play the Panthers in a non-league test on Saturday, April 12. The Panthers go into the test with a record of 21-9. Elmore County won 13-7 in their recent non-league test against Chilton County (Clanton, AL)
