Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Rio Mesa Spartans (Oxnard, CA) and the host Buena Bulldogs (Ventura, CA), observed Rio Mesa's volleyball team top Buena by a tally of 3-1.

The Spartans (14-12) will now prepare for their bout against Oaks Christian (Westlake Village, CA). The Lions come into the non-league bout with a 8-17 record. In their last bout, Oaks Christian fell by Calabasas (Calabasas, CA), 3-2, in a league bout.

With the loss, Buena drops to 2-10 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Bishop Diego (Santa Barbara, CA) to clash with the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Tuesday, April 15. The Cardinals come into the bout with a record of 17-11. Bishop Diego won 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Avalon (Avalon, CA)
