The Ayden - Grifton Chargers softball squad (Ayden, NC), was edged 6-5 in Thursday's league contest with the host SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC)

With the triumph, SouthWest Edgecombe improves its record to 9-4 on the year. The Cougars host Washington (Washington, NC) to face the Pam Pack in a Eastern Plains 2A contest on Tuesday, April 15. The Pam Pack enter the contest with a record of 12-3.

The Chargers now hold a 8-9 record. They play next when they host C.B. Aycock for a non-league contest on Wednesday, April 16.
