The Rector Cougars overwhelmed the host Corning Bobcats softball squad by a count of 16-0 in Thursday's league challenge.

Next, the Cougars meet the Cross County Thunderbirds (Cherry Valley, AR) in a 2A Region 3 challenge, on Wednesday, April 16. Rector will attempt to upgrade on its 5-2 season record.

The Bobcats (0-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Buffalo Island Central (Monette, AR). The Mustangs go into the 2A Region 3 challenge with a 7-4 record. In their last challenge, Buffalo Island Central was routed by East Poinsett County (Lepanto, AR), 14-1, in a league challenge.
