The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Hancock Hawks (Kiln, MS) and the host Long Beach Bearcats (Long Beach, MS), observed Hancock's softball team notch a victory over Long Beach by a tally of 10-1.

The Hawks (16-4) will now prepare for their bout against Picayune (Picayune, MS). The Maroon Tide go into the 6A Region 4 bout with a 10-15 record. In their last bout, Picayune was routed by Biloxi (Biloxi, MS), 8-5, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Bearcats battle the West Harrison Hurricanes (Gulfport, MS) in a 6A Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, April 15. Long Beach will attempt to advance on its 4-14 season record. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a 10-16 record after their 9-7 non-league win over Harrison Central (Gulfport, MS).
