Lamar County Bulldogs (Vernon, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Fayette County Tigers (Fayette, AL), 17-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 9-13 record. They take the field next when they host Sulligent for a 2A Area 9 challenge on Tuesday, April 12. Lamar County will battle a Blue Devils squad coming off a 18-0 league win over Aliceville (Aliceville, AL). The Blue Devils record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, Fayette County falls to 4-19 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Hamilton (Hamilton, AL) to battle the Aggies in a 4A Area 12 challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Aggies enter the challenge with a record of 14-9. Hamilton won 8-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Winfield (Winfield, AL)
