The Middletown Middie Bears routed the host Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks softball squad by a count of 24-2 in Tuesday's non-league battle.

The Middie Bears (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Monroe-Woodbury (Central Valley, NY). The Crusaders go into the non-league battle with a 2-1 record. In their last battle, Monroe-Woodbury topped Pine Bush (Pine Bush, NY), 1-0, in a non-league battle.

The Goldbacks now sport a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Kingston for a non-league battle on Thursday, April 13. Newburgh Free Academy will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 9-8 non-league win over Washingtonville (Washingtonville, NY). The Tigers record now stands at 1-0.
