The Gilmer Buckeyes got by the visiting Carthage Bulldogs softball squad by a count of 1-0 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Buckeyes (17-9) will now prepare for their battle against Kilgore (Kilgore, TX). The Bulldogs go into the 4A Region III District 17 battle with a 0-21 record. In their last battle, Kilgore was edged by Spring Hill (Longview, TX), 21-6, in a league battle.

The Bulldogs now sport a 16-9 record. They play next when they host Henderson for a 4A Region III District 17 battle on Friday, April 14. Carthage will meet a Lions squad coming off a 16-6 league win over Center (Center, TX). The Lions record now stands at 14-7.
