China Spring Cougars (China Spring, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX), 10-4 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 11-20 record. They take the field next when they travel to Robinson for a 4A Region III District 23 challenge on Friday, April 14. China Spring will face a Rockets squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Salado (Salado, TX). The Rockets record now stands at 22-8.

With the loss, La Vega falls to 9-15 on the campaign. The Pirates host Connally (Waco, TX) to face the Cadets in a 4A Region III District 23 challenge on Friday, April 14. The Cadets enter the challenge with a record of 11-14. Connally won 13-3 in their recent league challenge against Gatesville (Gatesville, TX)
