Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Columbia Wildcats (Columbia, MS), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Tornadoes now sport a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lawrence County for a 4A Region 7 challenge on Monday, April 17. Purvis will face a Cougars squad coming off a 8-1 league loss to Sumrall (Sumrall, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 11-8.

With the loss, Columbia falls to 2-10 on the campaign. The Wildcats host South Jones (Ellisville, MS) to face the Braves in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 14. The Braves enter the challenge with a record of 11-7.
