DuQuoin Indians (DuQuoin, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Nashville Hornets (Nashville, IL), 12-7 in a league challenge.

The Indians now own a 4-9 record. They take the field next when they host Mt. Vernon for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12. DuQuoin will battle a Rams squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Carbondale (Carbondale, IL). The Rams record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Nashville falls to 3-8 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Chester (Chester, IL) to battle the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 6-7. Chester won 16-13 in their recent league challenge against Sparta (Sparta, IL)
