Hilltop Lancers (Chula Vista, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host San Ysidro Cougars (San Diego, CA), 13-6 in a league challenge.

The Lancers now own a 6-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mar Vista for a Metro South Bay challenge on Thursday, April 13. Hilltop will battle a Mariners squad coming off a 2-2 non-league Helix (La Mesa, CA). The Mariners record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, San Ysidro falls to 2-7 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Tri-City Christian (Vista, CA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 12. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 4-2. Tri-City Christian won 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Fallbrook (Fallbrook, CA)
